Born & bred in Wolverhampton, I studied art in Wolverhampton and North Wales whilst my family grew up, gaining my BA (HONS) Applied Arts Degree in 2009 at Glyndwr University and now consider myself an emerging professional artist.
I am currently relocating my studio space to accommodate a jewellery workshop, to allow me to incorporate precious metals and gems into my work.
My work is inspired by colour, with major influences including Kaffe Fassett, Zandra Rhodes and Andrew Logan. All of whom use lavish colour in their designs.
I use free machine embroidery on organza fabrics to represent different aspects of the petals of a flower. Some of my pieces are raised by layering ‘petals’ and sewing them together by hand. Through years of experience using the sewing machine I have mastered the stitches and developed my own characteristic designs for my accessories and jewellery and use colour confidently.
